Mailboxes store your emails ready for you to read them. You access your mailboxes through an e-mail server with a username and password. Our mailboxes can be either POP or IMAP. POP is the more common system, whereby you connect to the server and download messages to an e-mail application (such as Microsoft Outlook Express) on your computer. IMAP stores all your messages on the server - most e-mail programs allow access to IMAP servers. Both types of mailbox can also be accessed through a web based e-mail utility.
